Funny you should mention Plantinga; for about a week I was convinced his name would be spelled Plantinger because of my prof’s british accent. Angus Menuge–great man really–he specializes in logic and the philosophy of mind.

I think the goal was offsides; FIFA should resolve the dispute in a philosophical way.

  3. BillDFC Says:

The Greek goal was a wonderfull piece of flowing football, fit to win any game.

  4. Drakodan Says:

There’s also Plantinga, but its still nowhere near the number of philosophers in other regions. The fact that Greece had such a focus on philosophy thousands of years ago, and its largely ignored now, is disheartening.

Actually, America has had its fair share of Philosophers. Both William James and Charles Peirce are examples of America’s contribution to Philosophy. Though America’s quantity of Philosophers hasn’t been as high as Britain, for example, the quality is nearly proportional. If it weren’t for those like Rorty it might even be higher. Then again, my best Philosophy prof is British…

Mm. Yes, indeed. But that was really tight. A little humility wouldn’t hurt.

We can’t really expect you to know a lot about Philosophy then, can we?

Not that I’m trying to be racist, but there aren’t a great deal of good American Philosophers.
